ACL Fest Survival Guide

Two weekends, eight stages, and roughly 75,000 people a day in Zilker Park. Here is how locals get in, stay cool, eat well, and get home without a two-hour rideshare wait.

What are we missing? ACL Fest: two weekends in October (2026: Oct 2-4 & 9-11 - confirmed via aclfestival.com) Send your pick →
1
Skip the car: walk or bike from South Lamar / Barton Hills · Zilker / Barton Hills

Park at a friend's or a lot along South Lamar and walk in on Barton Springs Road; the bike valet is free.

2
Republic Square shuttle · Downtown

Free ACL shuttles loop from Republic Square downtown; it is the fastest reliable way in and out at closing.

3
ACL Eats · Zilker Park

Local vendors like Tiff's Treats, Salt Lick, Amy's, and Veracruz feed the park; go early to beat headliner-hour lines.

4
Barton Springs Pool cool-down · Zilker / Barton Springs

The pool sits right next to the fest; a mid-day dip at 68 degrees resets you for the night sets.

5
Late Night shows · Red River / East Austin

Official ACL Late Night sets at Stubb's, Antone's, Mohawk, and Scoot Inn are where weekend-one artists play tiny rooms.

6
Weekend-two strategy · Zilker Park

Second weekend is nearly the same lineup with fewer sellouts and cooler evenings; locals often pick it.

7
Recovery brunch on South Lamar · South Lamar / Bouldin

Sunday-morning migas at Maudie's, Bouldin Creek Cafe, or Kerbey Lane before day three.

8
Rain plan · Zilker Park

October storms have flooded the park before; bring a poncho, not an umbrella, and know the Barton Springs Road exit.
